Class description

Creativity rarely shows up on schedule. Yet work keeps asking for new ideas by Thursday: a campaign, a fix, a better way of doing things.

Most good ideas die young, judged before they've had a chance to grow. In this class you'll learn to separate coming up with ideas from judging them, and to stay playful when the clock is running.

What you'll work on

  • Week 1: Creative phase, editorial phase. Why judging too early kills ideas, and rounds of rapid ideas with criticism switched off.
  • Week 2: Building on others. Group exercises where every idea has to use the one before it.
  • Week 3: Pressure and limits. Creating against the clock and with odd rules.
  • Week 4: From idea to pitch. Choosing your strongest idea and pitching it in 60 seconds.
  • Each week ends with one small thing to try at work before the next session.

    You'll leave with

  • More ideas, faster
  • A clear way to choose between them
  • Habits that make your team's brainstorms better
  • A certificate for your 4-week training
  • Who it's for

People who need ideas on demand, in product, marketing, consulting or their own business.
