Want to try improv? Meet new people? Have a ton of fun and laughs? While also learning some amazing and valuable communication and teamwork skills? Then join us for our Intro to Improv Workshop!

It’s a perfect 'taster' session for anyone who wants to try improv comedy or just something new and different in a fun and supportive environment.

So what is Improv?

Improv is a set of skills that you develop over time which improve your every social, business and personal relationship – or as some people call it: ‘your life’. It helps you develop the parts of your brain that make you more receptive and responsive to others. It also makes you more confident and creative-thinking, and taps into your sense of humour and your ability to be funny – and you are funny, trust us.

Basically, Improv makes you even more popular!

No previous experience of improv or performing is necessary.

Our Intro to Improv Workshop will focus on basic exercises and the fundamentals of improv. Sessions are led by an experienced ICC teacher and are a brief glimpse into the core values of the ICC Training Centre. It’s a great way to sample what we teach !

Important: to enrol in improv classes, students need to be at least 18 years old.

Kate Driscoll

Kate Driscoll is an experienced improviser who got her start through the ICC theatre. Kate made her first pun at age 3, and people have been trying to get her to stop ever since. She also narrates much of her life through silly songs, which former roommates have called “barely tolerable” and “kind of unnecessary”, but that hasn't stopped her from performing musical improv regularly with her ICC team Killer Tunes. Kate took an intro to improv class because a viral hit from 1999 told her to do one thing a day that scares her. But rather than being scared, she found a warm and supportive community, where she could be her most wonderfully silly self, and she strives give others that same experience through her teaching.
