MIND GAMES - A night of Science, Learning & Laughter

Join us for a night where Science and Improv comedy come together when ICC invites Scientists and PHD students to give 25-minute presentations on an intriguing area of their research so it’s understandable to a bunch of normal people in the audience.

Then, in the second half, the MindGames Improv team will improvise a comedy show inspired by an interview with the scientist and their work.

No minimum IQ required: This is a show for everyone!

First half: Talk presented by Thies Gülck, PhD in Synthetic Biology from Copenhagen University

Title of the talk: Unlocking the biochemistry of Cannabis

Brief summary of talk: Cannabis is a potent medicinal plant and has been used by humans for millennia mostly thanks to the effects of cannabinoids, a family of natural products that uniquely play with our appetite, sleep, mood and much more! We’ll also discover how scientists like Thies have ben able to make cannabinoids by microbial production with cutting-edge technology, and how he identified the last missing component of Cannabinoid biosynthesis.

Second half: Comedy Show

Come learn, come laugh at this monthly event at The ICC Theatre.

Doors and bar open at 19:30.

Out of respect for the other show guests, please arrive at the theatre no later than 19:45. If you have not checked-in at the theatre by the start time of 20:00, your reservation will be cancelled and the ticket will be made available to the stand-by line.
